My first project to be done at IUT Sophia Antipolis was a project aimed to communicate with Malaysians students who are currently doing their preparation in Malaysia before departing to France. With the objective of sharing our experience and answer to their doubts, we hope that our juniors could prepare themselves well before embarking to a new adventure.

This project was guided by our lecturer of communication, Madam Emmanuel Bouche. I worked with two collaborators who are both Malaysians who are Nurdini et Shawn. As we have gone through the same course as the juniors, we think that we could stand at their point of view to share some of our useful experiences to them.

First and foremost, we need to choose a social media as a platform to communicate with them. Among all those varies social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, have chosen Instagram as our medium. It's because of the facility to share our information and most importantly, it's the social media mostly used among teenagers. Thus, we trust that it would be the best choice to have an effective connection with them.

Next, we decided to name our group as GSF(Guide pour survivre en France)

And this is our logo which is a combination of three hexagons (represent France) in three colors of its flag - blue, white, red.

Here is our Instagram account! You are welcomed to visit our Instagram via this link :

Before creating our account, we had made a google form with ten questions to do a research about the types of information that our juniors will be interested to. With the help of the Head of Pre- France program of UniKL MFI, Mr Mourad, the students are able to fill up this form, thus we could focus on some topics that they are curious about. The link of this google form is on our bio:

We have received 45 response from our students and mostly they are keen to know more about accommodation, monthly living cost, the study schedule and time management, items to prepare for luggage, travel in Europe etc... Based on their response, we planned for the content for each post.

Our first post to announce our account and also the aim of this project.

Of course we have to introduce ourselves!

Next, we made a post concerning parents' worries of letting go their children to be far from them. There are some ordinary questions that parents will be curious about for instance the situation of covid-19 in France, islamophobia, how to settle their daily meal without parents and their ability to communicate with French people. Therefore, this post is to answer the parents' doubt and to give them more sense of security.

And here goes to our forth post! A very important info to our juniors and it's also the most asked questions by them -- What I must bring in my luggage? Thus, in this post, we have arranged in a list of all the necessary items to be brought from Malaysia like clothing, food, documents, medications, stationeries and etc.

Then it's a short video about the journey of flight from Malaysia to France :)

Based on our google form, we have also made a post of QnA session regarding the most asked questions from the students. We have separated in two parts, the first part is about studying in France and the second part is about worries before departure.

Our eighth post : a video to show you how to take a bus from our stay, Odalys Residence Olympe, Antibes to IUT Sophia Antipolis. The video provide subtitles that give more explanations.

A video to show them how to buy your train ticket at train station SNCF by using ticket vending machine.

Besides, we know that it has always been a question frequently asked by the students - How to do our groceries in France? Where to find asian food and halal meat? Thus, here is some recommendations and guidelines of how we do our weekly groceries at Antibes.

Thanks to this project, we have also learnt to use Canva, a graphic design platform, to design our colorful post, take videos and also edit videos.

Through this project, we are glad to share our experience of living in France for likely one year. And we know that it has never been an easy step to be adapted to a new environment where you must speak a different language. Yet, a new challenge for yourself is also a chance for you to grow up and be independent. Step out from your comfort zone is the most efficient way to learn new things. And our journey in France are still going on....

Hope this project will truly help those students who are coming to France soon! And it's our pleasure to get to know more about them and in the meantime having a good connection with them!
